Windows are like doors the bread and butter of any joinery company , and again there is a huge range of different windows , made in a wide range of timbers . Probably for us the most common are European Oak windows and usually in traditional casement design , this is however mainly because standard storm proof frames can be purchased relatively cheaply from the large joinery manufacturers . If however you require an unusual window or one to match an existing design or in a timber other than softwood you will probably need the services of a joinery firm like ourselves . All windows fitted nowadays have to conform to very strict regulations on weather seals in the frames and thickness of double glazing to give the correct insulation properties , this is of course unless you live in a conservation area or in a listed building , here the aesthetics are more important to planners than the insulation properties.

Windows do come in all shapes and sizes all of which we are capable of providing , for example we have just been commissioned to make one 4.2m high by 1m wide. We have in the past constructed huge Oak windows for several listed building one of which had Oak posts 2cm by 1.75m with quite detailed mouldings on .
As with doors ironmongery is an important part of a window , many finishes can be supplied from stainless steel to Chrome , brass , wrought iron and even handmade iron work .
Glass is equally important whether it is double or single glazed intricate patterns can be sand blasted onto the glass , patterned glass is always available in many different patterns . authentic lead lights can be fitted , 'K' glass is now a standard in most work and regulations now mean glass in vulnerable areas has to be safety glass .
